B.Sc. - Physician Assistant

Physician assistants are concerned with preventing and treating human illness and injury by providing a broad range of health care services under the direction of a physician or surgeon. Physician assistants conduct physical examination, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, prescribe medications, counsel on preventive health care and may assist in surgery. Physician assistants would be valuable in variety of health care settings such as hospitals, rehabilitation centers for physical and psychiatric disorders, special schools and centers for children, de-addiction centers and geriatric homes.

During the first year of the course, the students gain knowledge in basic sciences related to Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry. From the second year onwards, the students learn about the pathological conditions causing disability. They also gain knowledge and experience in assessing and providing therapies for these conditions through lectures and clinical placements.
